The best Christmas presents are not (necessarily) the most expensive ones but those into which some thought has gone. To give you a hand this year, we’ve thought about some of the lovely and useful things we have in Centre which we think other gardeners will really appreciate but which won’t break the bank. So whether it’s last-minute shopping to help fill a stocking or you’re stuck for a ‘secret Santa’ gift, we think we can help.
We’ve got a selection of ornamental stakes and feeders in stock at the moment but this adorable Robin seems to be the most popular. Standing about 1 metre high and with a sturdy double prong for pushing into a border or pot, he will brighten any gardener’s day. Some natural weathering may occur as he sits outside.
(We are just waiting for someone to send us a photo of a real Robin sitting on him!)
What gardener doesn’t need gardening gloves! Spares for wet jobs or when your current pair need a good wash are always useful to have in stock.
As well as a range of sizes, colours and prices, our selection includes everything from light cotton gloves, durable work gloves and water-proof gloves, so we think we’ve got all gardening eventualities covered!
Small and unassuming this kneeler pad might be but think of the aches and pains it could save for anyone lucky enough to receive it as a thoughtful gift!
Made of durable foam, it will dry out and brush off quickly ready for next time. And at such a reasonable price, too.
Garden birds are the gardener’s friend, helping to keep aphids and other pests in check. Not to mention the friendly Robin or Blackbird who follows your digging to check for juicy worms!
Encourage them to visit gardens and balconies, particularly over the winter when natural food stores are low, with any of our feeders and bird food mixes.
Most of us love something that catches the light in our gardens or hangs over a hand rail and this lovely butterfly is just the thing.
It is guaranteed to brighten any garden or windowbox, even on the darkest of winter days.
Toowit? We think this cheeky little chap would ‘woo’ anyone! Standing about 6 inches high, he is made of a frost-proof, partially glazed terracotta so is weather-proof to stay outside all year. However, we think he’s cute enough that he would earn his keep indoors too.
If we haven’t inspired you yet, how about some gift vouchers to let the recipient choose their own present?
We have both Hambrooks own vouchers (for anyone who lives locally to our Titchfield Garden Centre) but we also have National Garden Scheme vouchers, redeemable in 1,400 centres and nurseries across the UK, if you need to send them further afield.
Paper vouchers start from just £1 value each so they can be pocket-friendly too!
